"Navigating Emotional Labor as an Equity-Minded Leader" with Dr. Jamie Eaddy
Please join us for a unique workshop opportunity: "It Doesn't Have to Be Like This": Tending to Grief in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Practice with Dr. Jamie Eaddy on Wednesday August 14th 2024.
Dr. Eaddy is dedicated to promoting healing and well-being, focusing on navigating trauma, loss, and grief with a focus on justice and liberation. She provides education, guidance and care services to individuals and organizations to support them to remain strong advocates while also making space for their own grief and healing.
This past year has been a particularly difficult year for higher education across the country and Rutgers staff are no exception. We believe the grief of this season and persistent emotional labor required of diversity educators and equity-minded leaders is an invitation to care for the educator. This workshop will provide participants the opportunity to connect during this challenging time, reflect on individual and collective grief and learn strategies for resilience and self-care in our work. Our desire is for participants to leave the session refreshed from the stress of last academic year and grounded for the new academic year's challenges.
The workshop will take place from 9:30am-12:00pm am at the New Brunswick Theological Seminary (17 Seminary Pl, New Brunswick, NJ 08901). Coffee and light snacks will be served. Please register here by August 1st, 2024 ASAP as space is limited. If registration has reached capacity, please contact kaylin@rutgers.edu to be added to the waitlist.
Hope to see you there!
