FANs are open to all faculty universitywide.
Faculty-led Affinity Networks are spaces for connection, support, career development, and advancement around unique and similar identity-based experiences.
Each FAN will have at least two faculty leads (Co-Chairs) who will facilitate regular touch points with FAN members, help guide the FANs plans and activities, liaise with the FDC, be listed as contacts for the FAN on the FDC website, and promote the smooth succession of leadership when their term concludes.

The Rutgers LGBTQIA+ Faculty Affinity Network will bring together LGBTQIA+ faculty who desire to foster a sense of community and create a supportive and positive environment at Rutgers.

The Rutgers Transnational Scholars FAN creates an inclusive and supportive community for Rutgers scholars from countries other than the US. Whether faculty are launching a career while adjusting to unfamiliar cultural norms or have built a career in the US, this network connects them with colleagues whose identity encompasses more than one national culture or language.

The Black Women’s FAN will provide a forum for Black female-identifying faculty in Schools of Arts and Sciences to network, connect and share experiences and resources for our persistence, resilience and professional success at Rutgers University.

The Faculty Affinity Network on Disability, Accessibility and Inclusion at Rutgers uses research, education, and narrative exchange to catalyze shifts in perceptions, policies, and procedural frameworks about disabilities.
Co-Leads: Jenny Yang, Ph.D. and Travis DuBose, Ph.D.
The purpose of this FAN is to provide a platform for Non-Tenure Track teaching faculty cross-campus to collaborate and offer support, given the unique demands of the NTT position within Rutgers.

Provide faculty with a sense of community, inclusion, belonging and enhance overall well-being and satisfaction
Serve as safe and brave spaces for discussing unique challenges faced by diverse faculty that impact their advancement, success, and well-being – both in person and online.
Provide peer-to-peer and/or senior mentorship to assist members in navigating the academy, advancing in rank and into leadership.
Affirm and support a variety of intersectional identities.
