The OASIS Leadership and Professional Development program is designed to promote inclusive community, combat isolation and mitigate against bias, helping faculty develop the skills necessary to lead and advance in academia, with special attention to the unique challenges women faculty face as they navigate higher ranks and leadership in academia.
All faculty are encouraged to apply.
OASIS is designed to promote inclusive community while attending to the unique needs and challenges women faculty may face in academia through six months of intensive career development support where faculty:
Expand leadership and communication skills
Build career-enhancing networks at Rutgers
Increase scholarly productivity and professional visibility
Enhance life-work integration and resiliency
Advance their careers
The interactive workshops introduce faculty to evidence-based best practices, tools, and strategies they can use or adapt for their leadership and professional development.
Past workshops have featured topics such as 1) Using DiSC to Lead Skillfully, 2) Negotiating Skills for Work and Life, 3) Getting Recognized for Your Work, 4) Increasing Scholarly Productivity, and 5) Navigating Competing Priorities.
A certified professional coach provides holistic support by working one-on-one with faculty and asking questions that encourage reflection, decision-making, and progress on their selected goals.
OASIS monthly meetings with other program faculty provide a community of support and accountability for scholarly, professional and/or personal goals.
