Tracking Diversity Plan Progress: Submit Action Items by July 14

Building an Inclusive Academy: Diversity Plan Progress Summit on November 15, 2023

June 7, 2023

Dear Members of the Rutgers University Community,

In March 2022, when we released Rutgers’ first-ever diversity strategic plan, part of our institutional commitment was to foster transparency and accountability for progress toward the plan’s ambitious goals.

I am delighted to share the new Tracking Progress webpage, which features mechanisms for you to submit actions across both Chancellor-led and central administrative units that move Rutgers forward. With your input, we aim to capture both the breadth and depth of activity that is occurring across the university. Please submit your actions by July 14.

In October, we will release the first progress report that aggregates action items by diversity priority to capture how the university has intentionally worked toward its diversity goals in the past year as well as celebrate the foundational work that has anchored Rutgers long before now.

Finally, save the date for Rutgers’ first Diversity Plan Progress Summit on November 15! Join us to discover how Rutgers is pursuing its commitment to excellence and inclusion. Hear from university leaders about our institutional goals and how collaboration is driving progress. Learn how Rutgers is moving from words to action in implementing its University Diversity Strategic Plan, working in earnest to develop a university community where everyone can thrive.

Best wishes for a restorative summer.

Sincerely,

Enobong (Anna) Branch, Ph.D.
