Philanthropy for Social and Racial Justice - The William T. Grant Foundation

As the State University of New Jersey, Rutgers has a special obligation to lead our collective response to the history of racism and ongoing discrimination and to foster pioneering academic research that moves our entire society toward understanding and redress. Join us for a webinar series that will map the university’s academic strengths in racial and social justice and help advance our research efforts toward the fullest possible engagement with the world around us.
Our opening events focus on the recent surge in philanthropy addressing systemic and structural racism. Private foundations are shifting their focus, expanding their investments, and seeking ways to support long-term solutions that remedy racial and social justice. Webinars will feature foundation Program Officers, who will share their insights and institutional perspective on the role of philanthropy in conversation with Rutgers faculty.
Panelists:
- Jenny Irons, Program Officer, Reducing Inequality Program Area, The William T. Grant Foundation
- Nyeema Watson, Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Inclusion, and Civic Engagement, Rutgers University-Camden
