Dr. Martha Lansing Memorial Lecture: Dr. Philip M. Alberti on “Achieving Health Equity and Population Health through Health Justice”
Dr. Philip M. Alberti, founding director of the AAMC Center for Health Justice and senior director of the AAMC division of Health Equity Research and Policy, will discuss multi-level strategies for engaging in health activism to improve population health and health equity.
At the end of the lecture attendees will be able to:
1. Define, differentiate, and explain relationships between the concepts: health equity, health care equity, health justice, population health, ‘equity, diversity & inclusion’, vital conditions for health, and ‘fundamental causes of disease’
2. Explain how health care organizations can maximally impact population health and health equity across seven tiers of action
3. Understand how demonstrating trustworthiness and committing to authentic community engagement are foundational to advancing health equity
