This year’s lecturer is Kenneth B. Morris, Jr. Mr. Morris is the great-great-great grandson of Frederick Douglass and the great-great grandson of Booker T. Washington.  The great orator and abolitionist Frederick Douglass was the most photographed person in the 19th century. Mr. Morris will lecture about Frederick Douglass‘ iconic image and the importance of visual documentation of African-American history and culture.  His lecture will tie in with our 2023 Black History Celebration theme which is “The Black Photographer: Our Image in Our Hands.”
