About
The Stephens Lab studies the immunology and pathology of malaria and COVID-19. We are a welcoming and inclusive group with a team spirit and shared goals. I grew up in Washington Heights in Manhattan in a multi-cultural family and neighborhood. It is my strongest hope that Science begins to reflect the diversity of our country, our greatest strength.
Current Work
Our lab has several ongoing projects:
-Chronic malaria vaccine strategy to prolong the short-lived protection of Plasmodium infection or vaccination
-Interaction between T cells and B cells that generate antibodies to clear the malaria parasite
-Immune Regulation of lung pathology in SARS-CoV-2 infection
-Interaction of Microglia and Coagulation in experimental Cerebral Malaria
