Diversity Plan Progress Summit and CACP Award Nominations

September 21, 2023

Dear University Community,

I am delighted to invite you to attend the first-ever Diversity Plan Progress Summit on November 15!

Progress at this juncture may feel particularly tenuous. I’m asking you to ground yourself in the definition of progress as the forward movement toward a destination. Challenges abound, but at Rutgers University, there are many units, areas, and individuals working towards a common goal – to integrate the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our university. The Progress Summit is an opportunity to reflect on the national context we are working in, celebrate our milestones, and take stock of the work that lies ahead.

The Progress Summit will end with the Committee to Advance Our Common Purposes Award Celebration. Be sure to nominate someone whose work enables the achievement of our institutional diversity goals. There are now four vehicles to recognize and reward faculty, staff, and students. The nomination deadline is October 20.
