About

As a PA, I have a strong interest in team science, IPE, and using simulation as a tool towards education and assessment for our adult learners. As a qualitative researcher, I would like to champion this under-utilized approach for analysis and scholarship here at the University. These endeavors require forging relationships, effective communication and proposing sustainable models. I'd like to learn these skills through the I-LEAD program. As a faculty member working in a program which is primarily technical and skills-based, I have been informed there is very little opportunity to do so due to the nature of the curriculum and the fact that I am on the teaching track. As a result, I earned my PhD to embark on external funding to support and champion these endeavors.

Current Work

I currently work to lead all experiential endeavors at the PA program including high fidelity simulation, objective structured clinical encounters (OSCEs), and our procedure-based bootcamp course to have PAs be clinically ready. I am also part of the SHP IPE team where we champion efforts towards our IPE events, some of which include up to 800 participants and facilitators. Finally, I am also part of Rutgers S.C.A.R.L.E.T. (Simulation Collaboration Advancing Research, Learning, Education, and Training) which is a network of simulation experts at Rutgers Health. This network was developed to share ideas, and support simulation endeavors.
